An Afrotropical species, all of whose parasitic stages, including the undescribed nymph, are usually found on Soricomorpha: Soricidae; adults and nymphs have been recovered from Rodentia: Muridae; adults alone have been collected from Macroscelidea: Macroscelididae . There are no records of Ixodes nchisiensis causing human parasitism.
