A Nearctic species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Rodentia: Cricetidae; nymphs and larvae have also been recorded from Rodentia: Muridae, and nymphs alone have been collected from Squamata: Anguidae . There are no records of Ixodes peromysci causing human parasitism.
