19. Ixodes aulacodi Arthur, 1956c .

An Afrotropical species, all of whose parasitic stages, including the undescribed nymph, are usually found on Rodentia: Thryonomyidae, but they have also been found on Rodentia: Muridae . Adults alone have been collected from Artiodactyla: Bovidae, Carnivora: Viverridae, and Rodentia: Hystricidae and Nesomyidae; nymphs have been recovered from Passeriformes: Cisticolidae; and larvae from Soricomorpha: Soricidae, and Galliformes: Numididae (Guglielmone et al. 2014, Chitimia-Dobler et al. 2016). There are no records of Ixodes aulacodi causing human parasitism.
