18. Ixodes asanumai Kitaoka, 1973 .
Chiefly a Palearctic species, with a few records from the Oriental Region. All parasitic stages are usually found on Squamata: Lacertidae, with rare records of adult ticks from Carnivora: Canidae, and nymphs from Aves (Passeriformes) and Squamata (Scincidae) . Ixodes asanumai is a very rare parasite of humans.
