2. Ixodes acuminatus Neumann, 1901 .
A Palearctic species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Rodentia: Cricetidae and Muridae, although they have also been found on other Mammalia (several orders). Adults and nymphs have been collected from Passeriformes: Turdidae, while adult ticks alone have been found on Galliformes: Phasianidae, and immature stages have been recovered from Accipitriformes: Accipitridae, and Passeriformes: Sylviidae and Troglodytidae . Ixodes acuminatus is a sporadic parasite of humans.
