72. Ixodes downsi Kohls, 1957b .

A Neotropical species, a female of which was collected from Caprimulgiformes: Steatornithidae, while a larva was found on Chiroptera: Phyllostomidae . Additional specimens have been collected from cave walls and bat guano (Kohls, 1957b, González-Acuña et al. 2008). There are no records of Ixodes downsi causing human parasitism.
