78. Ixodes elongatus Bedford, 1929 .
An Afrotropical species whose females and the undescribed larva and nymph have been found on Macroscelidea: Macroscelididae (provisional diagnosis of nymphs and larvae); females alone have been collected from Rodentia: Muridae, and Soricomorpha: Soricidae . There are no records of Ixodes elongatus causing human parasitism.
