An Afrotropical species whose adults are usually found on Rodentia: Muridae; larvae and nymphs have also been collected from Muridae; adults and larvae have been recovered from Afrosoricida: Tenrecidae; adults alone have been taken from Rodentia: Nesomyidae . There are no records of Ixodes colasbelcouri causing human parasitism.
