Melolontha guttigera is the only species in this group that has been reported from India; the other species are M. javanica Keith & Li, 2005 (Indonesia), M. maculata (Chang, 1983) China), M. setifera Li, 2010 (Myanmar), and M. weyersi (Brenske, 1900) (Indonesia) .
