Chlamydopteryx vulturnus (Kirkaldy), Kirkaldy 1907: 103.

Type material examined. 1 female syntype “Brisbane, Q. / Austr. 6.1904” “ Chlamydopteryx / vulturnus / Kirk. / Ƥ 295. / holotype ” (BPBM).

Other material examined. Australia, Queensland: Brisbane: 1 female, Brimblecombe, 5.iv. [19]47 (UQIC, Reg. # 43751); 2 males, 12-20.IV. [19]60, J. Martin (UQIC, Reg. # 43700, 43701).

Distribution. Queensland.

Note. In his original description, Kirkaldy (1906) provides a note on the colour and shape of the male “pygofers”. This indicates that he examined at least one male. The specimen labelled as “ holotype ” has not been validated as such by publication and is here regarded as a syntype. If a male specimen can be found in BPBM matching the original collection details, then it is available to be designated as lectotype.
