Chlamydopteryx ridicularis (Kirkaldy)

(Fig. 6)

Issus ridicularis Kirkaldy 1906: 438 .

Chlamydopteryx ridicularis (Kirkaldy), Kirkaldy 1907: 103.

Type material examined. Holotype male (by original designation) “Bundaberg, Q. / Austr. xi.1904.” “ Chlamydopteryx / ridicularis / Kirk. / ♂ 297. / Holotype ” (BPBM).

Other material examined. Australia, Queensland: 1 male, Bundaberg, A.M. Lea (SAM). Distribution. North Queensland.

Note. With his original description, Kirkaldy (1906) gives both “Cairns vii.1904 ” and “Bundaberg ixxii.1904” as the source of his type material but notes that “The Bundaberg specimen is the type ” indicating that there was only a single specimen from Bundaberg which he intended to be the type of the species. The male examined here is therefore recognised as a holotype by original designation.
