Remarks. Differently from most Metrichia species in Brazil with restricted distribution, M. vulgaris has wide distribution, occurring in three biomes and states in Northeast, Central-West, and South Regions (Santos et al. 2016). Recently, the known range of this species was extended into the Atlantic Forest in the Serra dos Órgãos National Park, a mountain region located in the central portion of Rio de Janeiro State (Santos et al. 2022). Here, the distribution range of M. vulgaris is extended in the Cerrado to the State of Tocantins, representing the first records for northern Brazil.
