Oncometopia lepida, new species

Description. Length of male 8.9–10.4 mm, female 9.4–10.4 mm. Other external characters as in O. orbona .
Coloration (Fig. 10 A–F). Ground color yellow, except pronotum behind anterior depressions and forewings green. Head coloration similar to well-patterned O. clarior with following differences. Crown without black streaks extending posterad from extremities of anterior branches of coronal suture or with streaks poorly developed (only their posterior extremities present as short markings), in lighter specimens with only following dark markings (Fig. 10 A): streak across anterior branches of coronal suture and small round spot on inner margin of lateral muscle impressions area half way between each ocellus and apex of crown. Abdominal terga III–VII black, terga VIII–IX and anal tube usually purple, peppered with darker dots (in specimens from Costa Rica this entire area is sordid yellow).
Male terminalia. Aedeagus shaft (Fig. 10 I, J) with process near middle, on long membranous stalk. Other characters as in O. clarior .
Female terminalia. Sternum VII (Fig. 10 N) as in O. orbona . Vestibulum (Fig. 10 L) produced into rectangular or conical posterior extension 1.2–1.5x as long as wide at base. Sternum VIII sclerites absent. Genital chamber sclerites (Fig. 10 L, M, shaded) attached to anterior ends of 1st valvulae, consisting of thimble-shaped anterior parts, converging anteriorly, and elongate platelike posterior parts forming ventrolateral walls of vestibulum extension; both anterior and posterior parts with spinose microsculpture. In ventral view (Fig. 10 L), membranous folds separating these sclerites from anterior ends of 1st valvulae diverging anteriorly. Other characters as in O. orbona .
Distribution. Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica (Fig. 10 Q).

Etymology. From the Latin lepidus (fine, pleasant), referring to the color pattern.
Notes. The males of this species could not be differentiated from the males of O. pelvica sp. n.
