Abbalomba Distant, 1908 b:225 . Type-species by monotypy: A. typica Distant, 1908 b .
Distribution. Tropical Africa.
Diagnosis. Face ivory or yellow with frons transversely banded with black between antennal ledges (as in Nyanja); coronal markings (when present) confined to tylus. Head angularly produced, tylus greatly exceding antennal ledges (Figs 6 H–K); pronotum sparsely punctate (as in Nyanja); tegmina with black freckles, veins obscure, bullae at tip of clavi; pecten of 2nd tarsomere of hind leg with 7–8 black-tipped spines. No appreciable sexual dimorphism. Ovipositor 2nd valvulae tapered to pointed tip, without teeth on dorsal margin beyond fused bases (Fig. 11 Q–R). Length: 4 mm.
