Diagnosis. Puparium oval to circular, large, color usually yellowish, some with dark coloration on the dorsal area; without wax secretion, with the transverse molting suture modified by being bent anteriorly at its apex and sometimes continuing around the entire cephalothoracic region or giving way to a wide pale area that surrounds the cephalothorax (Jensen 1999). Dorsal disk without distinct large pores and rhachis, frequent presence of reticulate sculpturing of the sub-dorsum. Thoracic and caudal tracheal folds fairly evident. The thoracic tracheal pore opening almost on the margin, with a few teeth. Vasiform orifice small, subcordate, without a comb of teeth; operculum similar in shape and obscuring the lingula (Quaintance & Baker 1917).
