Disparomitus kimminsi n. sp.

Diagnosis. Wing length (mm): ♂ forewing 28–29, hind wing 23–24; ♀ forewing 28, hind wing 23. General colouration dark brown. Legs yellow, femora and tibiae with two longitudinal lateral black stripes; these stripes are joined dorsally on the tibiae (Fig. 45). Mesoscutellum with a lateral black dot inside the yellow areas (Fig. 88).

Description of male. Head. Labrum and clypeus yellow. Frons black. Vertex brown. Face with white setae. Setae between bases of antennae and on vertex grey. Thorax (Fig. 88). Pronotum brown with yellowish markings. Mesonotum: prescutum dark brown with two yellowish marking at the anterior angles and two dorsal markings of the same colour. Anterior part of mesocutellum brown, this coloration is extended medially to the posterior margin. Extremity of this stripe is sometimes black. Lateral parts of mesoscutellum yellowish with two lateral black spots (Fig. 88). Postnotum brown. Postscutellum brown with very slender black erect setae. Legs. Yellow. Sides of femur and tibia with a black stripe; these stripes are confluent dorsally on tibia (Fig. 45). Abdomen (Figs 42–44). Dark brown. First tergite with black erect setae (Figs 42, 43). Tergites 2 with discal tuft of black erect setae. Lateral surfaces of tergites 2 and 3 covered with mixed stout short black and white setae (Figs 42, 43). Sternite 3 yellowish with a longitudinal black stripe divided longitudinally by a stripe of white pruinosity and strongly narrowed anteriorly (Fig. 44). Lateral margins bordered with black. Ectoprocts of male conical (Fig. 46). Male genitalia. Gonarcus-parameres complex as in figures 114–116. Gonarcus short. Parameres with the carina well developed.

Female. Same colour as male.

Distribution. East Africa from Tanzania to Zimbawe (Fig. 139).

Etymology. Species dedicated to the Neuroptera specialist D. E. Kimmins.
