Cerianthus sulcatus Kwietniewski, 1898: 427; Pax 1910: 167; Carlgren 1912a: 44-47; Uchida 1979: 194; Molodtsova 2001b: 919
(?) Cerianthus sulcatus: McMurrich 1910: 28-30
Type locality.
Raha, Ambon, Moluccas, Indonesia.
Distribution.
Only known from shallow water at the type locality.
Remarks.
This species was described by Kwietniewski (1898) based on a 4 cm long and 2.5 cm wide specimen with 90 tentacles in each tentacle series (marginal and labial) and three cycles each. However, these are the only characteristics indicated. McMurrich (1910 a) gave a description of a specimen collected from near the type locality. However, the description is incomplete and presents some differences compared to original description. Thus, currently, we cannot confirm if this species is valid or not.
