Atrichopogon (A.) rufescens Kieffer, 1921
Atrichopogon rufescens Kieffer, 1921: 563 (description of single female from Taihoku). Blech & Rohlfien 1987: 222 (in collection of SDEI type absent).
Atrichopogon (Kempia) rufescens: Tokunaga 1940b: 115 (male, female, fig. male genitalia, Taihoku, Taiwan).
Diagnosis. Body red, matt, length 1 mm. Head missing. Legs yellow. Second radial cell less than 2 times longer than first. Wing membrane uniformly covered with macrotrichia.
Discussion. Species determined by Tokunaga (1940b) as A. rufescens is much bigger than that shown in the original description by Kieffer. We treat it as nomen dubium. Probably it is synonymous with A. minimus .
