Nomenclature. Misspelled as “ L. utricularie ” by Tirjaková & Matis (1987), and thus unavailable according to the Articles 33.3 and 33.5 of the ICZN (1999).
Main morphological characters (according to Foissner et al. 1995). Length 100–280 × 40–85 µm in vivo. Body lanceolate with narrowly rounded posterior body end. Two macronuclear nodules with a single micronucleus in between. Two diagonally arranged contractile vacuoles. Extrusomes rod-shaped, 6–8 µm long, distributed along entire ventral and dorsal margin. Somatic ciliary pattern Siroloxophyllum -like; 13–20 right and 3–8 left kineties.
Distribution. Siroloxophyllum utriculariae was recorded in submerged, wet, moist and dry mosses from Slovenský Raj at a frequency of 7.54, 7.57, 6.06, 6.66, respectively (Tirjaková & Matis 1987) and in soil under mosses from the town of Bratislava (Andelová & Tirjaková 2000).
