Main morphological characters (according to Foissner et al. 1995). Length 80–190 µm in vivo. Body lanceolate with narrowly rounded posterior body end; 3–5 ribs on left side. Two macronuclear nodules with a single micronucleus in between. Contractile vacuole subterminal; sometimes an additional vacuole in anterior body third. Extrusomes rod-like and slightly curved, about 6 µm long, attached along whole length of oral bulge and to posterior body end. Somatic ciliary pattern Litonotus -like; 5–8 right and 5–6 left kineties.
Distribution. This species was reported from the benthos of the Hron River tributaries (Tirjaková 1998); from the benthos of the Stupavský potok brook (Tirjaková 2003b); from sediment in the littoral zone of the upper Váh River near the village of Stankovany (Tirjaková & Vďačný 2013a).
