Litonotus minisculus Song & Wilbert, 1989

Litonotus minisulcus — Tirjaková 1997b: 23, 27.

Nomenclature. Misspelled as “ L. minisulcus ” by Tirjaková (1997b), and thus unavailable according to the Articles 33.3 and 33.5 of the ICZN (1999).

Main morphological characters (according to Song & Wilbert 1989). Size 25–40 × 8–10 µm in vivo. Body lanceolate with narrowly to broadly rounded posterior body end. Two macronuclear nodules with a single micronucleus in between. Contractile vacuole terminal. Extrusomes rod-like, about 4–5 µm long, attached along whole length of oral bulge. Somatic ciliary pattern Litonotus -like; 4–5 right and 5 left kineties.

Distribution. Litonotus minisculus was found in an oligotrophic stream in the National Nature Reserve Rozsutec, Malá Fatra Mts (Tirjaková 1997b).
