Main morphological characters (according to Foissner et al. 1995). Size 50–150 × 20–50 µm in vivo. Body lanceolate with hook-like curved anterior body end and narrowly to broadly rounded posterior body end. Two macronuclear nodules with a single micronucleus in between. Contractile vacuole terminal. Extrusomes rod-like, about 4 µm long, attached along the whole length of oral bulge. Somatic ciliary pattern Litonotus -like; about 12 kineties.

Distribution. Acineria incurvata was found in the riverside zone of the Danube River system near Mužla- Čenkov (Tirjaková 1992a); in the main stream of the Morava River and in ponds as well as small lakes of the Morava inundation zone (Matis & Tirjaková 1994); in the littoral zone of the Danube River near the hydroelectric power structures in Gabčíkovo (Matis & Tirjaková 1995); in the benthos from the Gidra River (Tirjaková 2003a); in the sediment from the littoral zone of the upper Váh River (Tirjaková & Vďačný 2013a).
