Laemostenus (Antisphodrus) esfandiarii species-group

This species-group was established by Casale (1988) for L. (A.) esfandiarii (Morvan, 1974), described from Elburz Mts., massif of Suleiman, Rudbarak, 1900 m a.sl.; and now this group included also the closely related L. (A.) skalei Casale & Wrase, 2012 . Both species are distributed in Elburz Mts.

Malek Hosseini et al. (2016) placed L. (A.) aequalis in to the esfandiarii species-group. The discovery of an undescribed species in the southern Zagros Mts., closely related to L.(A.) aequalis but clearly less convex than the species from the Elburz allowed us to establish the new Antisphodrus species-group.
