Euphorbia salota Leandri (1947: 60)

(Figs. 4–5 and 9).

Type:— MADAGASCAR. Toliary: Androy, Bekily, Beraketa, “ Mont Eromo, près Beraketa entre Isoanala et Antanimoro ”, [24°11′S 45°42′E], 800–1000 m, March 1934, H. Humbert 14190 (lectotype here designated: P00078097! , isolectotypes: P00078096!, P00078098!) .

Note:— Leandri based his name on two syntypes, Humbert 14190 from Beraketa, and Humbert 13132 from Mount Morahariva. We selected one of the three Humbert 14190 specimens from Beraketa at P as the lectotype because it is the most complete of the syntypes and shows simultaneously the two types of leaves that can be found on the same plant (larger leaves on sterile parts of the plant and when resprouting after a fire, thin linear leaves near the inflorescences).
