There is no reason to object to such availability of Syngnathus variegatus Pallas, 1814 . This species is found both in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. When the original geographical and oceanographic structure of the Sea of Marmara is considered, this record of D’Ancona (1934) is acceptable.

15. Deltentosteus collonianus (Risso, 1820)

is clearly reported by Deveciyan (1915: 76) as Gobius collonianus with the Turkish common name of “Tekir Kayası” and there is no valid reason for not accepting this record.
