Saussure & Zehntner (1902: 312-313) gave a description and the locality information “ Madagascar, F. Sikora (Musée de Genève).” The MHNG collection contains two specimens in alcohol under the name Cormocephalus crudelis . There is no data label, but the identification labels in the jar have “Madagascar” written on them and there is no reason to suppose that they are not syntypes.
