7. Ormyrus gratiosus (Förster, 1860)

Material examined: Ilam, Shirvan-Chardavol and Dehloran, ex Isocolus tinctorius on safflower, Carthamus oxycantha, 2Ψ.

Ormyrus gratiosus is a parasitoid of the newly described safflower gall wasp, Isocolus tinctorius Melika and Gharali, 2005 (Cynipidae) collected from the west of Iran (Gharali 2004). It is widely distributed in more northerly parts of the Palaearctic, but its presence and host association in Iran are new records. It has been reared from a variety of Cynipidae associated with Asteraceae ( Aylax, Aulacidea and Isocolus) and also fruit flies ( Terellia Robineau- Desvoidy and Urophora Robineau-Desvoidy) (Zerova and Seryogina 2006).
