Female holotype from BRAZIL: Santa Catarina: São Bento do Sul: " BRASIL \ Est[ado de]º S[an]ta. Catarina \ RIO VERMELHO \ DIRINGS[hofen collection]”, "[red label] Typus ", "[J. P. Fonseca’s handwriting] Aspona \ gibosa \ J. P. Fonseca det. 1969 ". Double-mounted on minuten, forewings detached from body and glued to card pinned with specimen, right hindwing broken longitudinally, apical half missing, right mesothoracic leg lacking tarsomeres.
