Distribution and habitat: Known only from the type locality (Fig. 1). This distribution corresponds to the entomofaunal region of the central coastal mountain range (Peña, 1966) in the Coquimban biogeographical province (Morrone, 2015). This species inhabits semiarid environments, associated with shrublands at the tops of hills that receive fog from the nearby sea (Fig. 1C).
