Monepidosis tinnerti sp. n.

Diagnosis. This is the only species known of Monepidosis whose ejaculatory apodeme is bifurcate apically (Fig. B, ↓) and widened to form a triangle subapically. Gonocoxae have a large, membranous lobe on the ventroposterior margin (↓) in a position where in other Monepidosis are the so-called central processes (Jaschhof & Jaschhof 2013: fig. 89B).

Other male characters. Body size 1.7 mm. Head. Eye bridge 1–2 ommatidia long dorsally. Antenna longer than body, shorter than wing. Circumfila present on flagellomeres 1–11. Neck of fourth flagellomere 1.2 times longer than node. Palpus as long as head height. Wing. 2.6 times longer than wide. Legs. Empodia 2/3 as long as claws. Terminalia (Fig. 6 A–B). Gonostylus (Fig. A): spines merged into almost closed rim extending around the apical half of gonostylus body. Parameres strongly sclerotized, outline as usually in Monepidosis (Fig. B). Ejaculatory apodeme long, extending beyond anterior margin of gonocoxae (Fig. A).

Etymology. This species is named after Jon Tinnert, Ljungbyholm, Småland.

Holotype. Male (CEC73), Sweden, Uppland, Järfalla, Järvafältet, mixed deciduous forest, 28 May 2005, sweepnet, M. Jaschhof (in NHRS).
