Type (Holotype): Omophoita communis Bechyné, 1958 . Brazil, Rio de Janeiro , Niterói. No collector. Deposit institution: Naturhistorisches Museum Basel, Switzerland .

Length: 6,41–7,27 mm.

Head: reddish-brown. Small pale macula visible, limited to the antennal calli. One pale macula visible at the lower portion of the frons. Mouthparts: Labrum with eight setae. Antennae: reddish-brown.

Prothorax: pronotum yellowish. Metathorax and mesothorax: with the same color as the head. Elytra: elytral integument reddish-brown. Four large pale rounded maculae visible; two maculae at the proximal portion of the elytra, not reaching the base of the elytra, two maculae at the distal portion of the elytra reaching the margin of the elytra. Scutellum: triangular, posterior portion rounded. Legs: reddish-brown.

Abdomen: brownish. Male Aedeagus Median lobe (Fig. 20): Apical hood rounded. Ventral sclerite visible in dorsal view; longer than the sides of the median lobe, apex, acuminated, short and wide. Dorsal median process visible; proximal portion of the dorsal median process narrower than the apex; with two parallel thin projections on the apex, base of the projections with the same width as the apex. Oblique dorsal processes ventrally curved; apex rounded in dorsal view. Female Tignum (Fig. 23): Base wider than the apex; hood-like structure in the median portion present (Fig. 4); median portion with membranous aspect; distal portion slender, lateral margins parallel; apex angulated.

Observed distribution in the Southern Brazil: Paraná (Ponta Grossa, Rolândia), Santa Catarina (Florianópolis, S „o Bento do Sul, Timbó) (Fig. 29).
