Type: — VIETNAM. Khanh Hoa: km. 25 route de Nhatrang à Ninh Hoa, 600 m, 19 October 1923, E.Poilane 8304 (holotype P04060161 photo!) .
Distribution:—It is endemic to Vietnam, occurring in Khanh Hoa Province (Ninh Hoa Town Area).
Ecology and phenology:—It grows in evergreen broad-leaved lowland forests on granite at elevations of about 600 m a.s.l. Flowers in October.
Conservation status:—The species is known from the only type location recorded in 1923. It has not been observed any more since its discovery. Taking into consideration the wide deforestation in the species area, it may be expected that the species is already extinct or is on the verge of full extinction.
Notes:—The species is only known from type collection (Poilane, 8304). The identification of specimens cited by Vu (2018) from provinces Ninh Binh (Du-Thomas 77903) and Khanh Hoa (Poilane 12502) remain doubtful.
