Type: — CHINA. Guangdong: ad rupes madidas Ting-u-shan, T. Sampson 7562 (holotype BM000041740 photo!) .

≡ Didissandra macrosiphon (Hance) Wang (1975: 98), Wang et al. (1998: 282).

Distribution:—The species is found in Vietnam (Ha Giang Province) and in SE China (Guangxi and Guangdong provinces).

Ecology and phenology:—It grows in evergreen broad-leaved submontane forests on granite and shale at elevations of about 1200 m a.s.l. Flowers in July–August.

Conservation status:— The species is known from Guangxi and Guangdong provinces of SE China and Ha Giang Province of N Vietnam, forming a narrow triangle with an approximate square of not more than 15000 km 2. Since there is no current data on the size of recorded populations or conditions of their habitats, the conservation status may be estimated as Data Deficient according to IUCN criteria (2023).

Note:—The occurrence of this species in Vietnam was reported by Nguyen & Wen (2018) and Vu (2018). We did not find herbarium specimens confirming this record.
