Lectotypeype (designated here): — VIETNAM. Lam Dong: sentier de la montagne de l’elephant sur la vallée du ruisseau de Prenn, 27 August 1924, F.Evrard 1216 (P00634327 photo! isolectotypes P00602494 photo!, P00602495 photo !).

Distribution:—The species is endemic to Vietnam known from Lam Dong and Gia Lai provinces, and also in Thua Thien Hue Province (fide Vu 2028).

Ecology and phenology:—It grows in evergreen broad-leaved and mixed montane forests on granite and shale at elevations 1400–2200 m a.s.l. Flowers in February–March and August–September.

Conservation status:—The species has a rather wide distribution in mountainous regions of southern Vietnam, with a total occupancy area of about 30 000 km 2. Due to the many known populations in relatively well protected montane locations, the conservation status of this species may be provisionally estimated as Least Concerns following the criteria of the IUCN (2023).

Note:— Among three specimens designated by F. Pellegrin as types, we chose as an lectotype one (P00634327) that was designated on the herbarium sheet as the type by B. L. Burtt in 2007 .
