Etymology. The specific epithet is from the latinised Ancient Greek adjective εὔτυπος (easily taking an impression; easy to shape).

Diagnosis. Poecilaemula eutypa differs from other members of Poecilaemula sensu stricto by the combination of the following characteristics: dorsal scutum with yellow markings (orange in P. iching); leg IV unarmed; areas of mesotergum the same colour as the rest of the scutum (areas darker in P. signata).; tubercles of areas I and III extremely reduced, almost imperceptible (more conspicuous in P. signata and P. iching), yet yellow in colour.
