Genus Namalycastis Hartman, 1959

Diagnosis. Long body, usually with more than 150 chaetigers. Trapezoidal prostomium, with short subconical antennae, two pairs of eyes (eyes absent rarely). Four pairs of tentacular cirri. Dorsal cirri with cylindrical cirrophores on anterior body, and flattened cirrophores on posterior body. Notochaetae usually present; preacicular neurochaetae usually as heterogomph falcigers; postacicular neurochaetae, in most species, as sesquigomph spinigers in supraacicular fascicle and heterogomph spinigers in sub-acicular fascicle; pygidium button-like (Fig. 3A) (Alves & Santos 2016).
