Type species. Siphonoecetes australis Stebbing, 1910 .

Diagnosis. Siphonoecetina without rostrum; pseudorostrum present on frons (Fig. 4 C). Antenna 2 peduncle article 4 and 5 with groups of normal simple setae; flagellum article 2 with 1, article 3 with 2 distal robust setae. Pereopods 5–6 carpus with 1 long and 1 short robust setae. Uropod 1 peduncle in male with normal ventroapical corona margin. Inner ramus of uropods l and 2 broad, laterally dentate, with small apical robust setae not in hollow apex. Uropod 3 peduncle with a few short setae on medial projection.
