Type genus. Caribboecetes Just, 1983
Diagnosis. Siphonoecetini with or without rostrum; antenna 2 flagellum with 2 robust setae on article 3, 1 distal robust seta on article 2, none on article 1 (Fig. 3 Ea); gnathopod 2 propodus oval to nearly simple with row of robust setae along posterior margin (Fig. 2 C 4 c 1) (modified subchelate in Concholestes); coxal plates 3 and 4 with short, pectinate setae in indentations along anterior and distal margins (Fig. 3 A 2); pereopods 5–6 carpus apex and lateral surface with a few to many equal siZed peg-like robust setae (Fig. 3 B 2); unguis of pereopods 5–7 without accessory claw (except Polynesoecetes) (Fig. 3 B 2); uropod 1 inner ramus less than ½ length of outer ramus, flat (except elongate, cylindrical in Concholestes) (Fig. 3 C 4); uropod 2 absent; uropod 3 without ramus (except small, single ramus in Africoecetes armatus); telson rounded triangular, fused with dorsally visible urosomite 3 (Fig. 3 C 4).
