Notes.
According to Knaap-van Meeeuwen (1970, p. 42), the type material for Maniltoa browneoides came from a cultivated specimen grown at Bogor Botanical Gar dens from seeds or seedlings collected by Forbes on New Guinea, however no citation is given as the source for this information. The holotype for M. gemmipara is listed as being at Leiden by Knaap-van Meeuwen, however there are no specimens there annotated as such. There are two specimens, however, from Java collected in 1908 that seem to match the details in the protologue. These are filed as M. gemmipara and have the registration numbers L.3886447 and L.3886448.
