Taperus quadragulatus sp. n.

Measurements. ɗ: body length: 5.5 mm; head width (incl. eyes): 1.1 mm; head length: 0.6 mm. Ψ: body length: 6.0– 6.1 mm; head width (incl. eyes): 1.1–1.2 mm; head length: 0.6–0.7 mm.
Head, pronotum and scutellum (Figs 4, 19) light brown, with obvious oyster white longitudinal streak on vertex medially; forewing (Fig. 53) with pale yellow plaque only in the costal area.
Male pygofer (Fig. 36) nearly quadrangular in lateral view, densely with row of microsetae on apex. Apex of footlike apical process of style short and robust, about one sixth length of style (Fig. 39). Aedeagal shaft in situ (Figs 37–38) with posterior margin not concave in lateral view.
Etymology. The name of this species refers to the shape of the male pygofer.
Material examined. Holotype: ɗ (NWAFU), China: Hunan Prov.: Sangzhi County, 22-August-1981, coll. Tong Xinwang; Guizhou Prov.: 2ΨΨ (NWAFU), Leishan County, Leigongshan, 30-July-1997, coll. Zhang Yazhou.
Distribution. China (Hunan, Guizhou).
Remarks. This species can be easily distinguished from other species of the genus by the nearly quadrangular male pygofer.
