Paralectotypes: 2 specimens (undissected, ethanol), MNHN-IU-2013-19690, summit of Mount Ignambi, 1300 m ; 1 female (labelled as female A by Chevreux; head in ethanol and 11 slides of maxillae 1–2 left and right, gnathopods, pereopods 3–7, pleopods 1–3, uropods, and telson), MNHN-IU-2013-19691; 1 female (labelled as female B by Chevreux; ethanol and 2 slides of mouthparts, gnathopods 1, 2 and branchiae), MNHN-IU-2013-19692; 1 male (2 slides, antennae 1–2, maxilla 1, maxillipeds and gnathopods), MNHN-IU-2013-19693, Ignambi Forest .

Type locality. Mt Ignambi, forest, 700–1300 m altitude, north-eastern New Caledonia.

Ecological type. Forest-hopper.

Habitat. Forest floors at 700–800 m altitude.

Remarks. Differs from Chiltonorchestia in its short antenna 1.

Distribution. New Caledonia: Mt Ignambi (Chevreux, 1915); Farino; Pouembout (Iannilli & Ruffo, 2007).
