Previous records in the Hauts Plateaux and coastal area. C. salinus was first recorded in Algeria in the coastal region of Numidia (Samraoui et al. 2006): Les Salines and Mare Laalalig (Annaba). It was recorded subsequently in multiple sites near El Taref, and Souk Ahras (Ghaouaci 2018), and in different sites near El Taref, Souk Ahras, and Annaba (Boumendjel 2019).

Comments. The species appears to be restricted to the northern part of the country and is most common in the eastern coastal region, where a humid and subhumid climate prevails.
