Previous records in the Algerian Sahara. The species was recorded in Temacin and Tolga (Blanchard & Richard 1890), Temacine, Tolga (Gauthier 1928b), Tougourt (Beladjal et al. 1995a; b).

Previous records in the Hauts Plateaux and coastal area. Recorded in Mécheria and Sebkhet Mamiet (Gauthier 1928b), Sétif (Amarouayache & Belakri 2015), Lake El-Bahira, Sebkhet Sidi Bouziane, Sebkhet Bethioua, Sebkhet Bazer Sakra (De Los Ríos-Escalante & Amarouayache 2016).

Comments. Similar to A. salina, this species occurs exclusively in saline and hypersaline lakes.
