Material examined. FRANCE. 50 km SW Paris, For. Rambouillet [48.667°N 1.814°EW], 23.v.1999, B.J. Sinclair (3 ♂, 5 ♀, CNC) . GERMANY. Bonn, Kottenforst [50.672°N 7.078°E], 26.v.2001, B.J. Sinclair (7 ♂, 1 ♀, CNC) ; Schuld, Ahr Valley, 300 m, Dreisbach [50.432°N 6.854°E], 16–17.vi.2001, B.J. Sinclair (1 ♂, CNC) .
Distribution. Europe: France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland.
Remarks. Rhamphomyia (H.) helvetica belongs to the R. (H.) nigripennis group. This species was known only after the type material collected in Spain and Switzerland. This is the first record of this species from France and Germany.
