Material examined: China: 1♀, Yunnan, Xishuangbanna, 20 km NW Jinghong, Man Dian, 22°07'N, 100°40'E, 720 m, light trap, 26.V.2008, leg. Weigel (NME) . Laos: 1 ex., Houa Phan prov., Phou Pane mountain, 20°13'N, 104°00'E, 1480–1510 m, 22.IV.–14.V.2008, leg. Kubáň (NMP) .

Comment: The original description of P. notabilis is based on several specimens collected in a nest of “ Termes malaccensis ad Yen-Bay (Tonkino)” (SILVESTRI 1946). Pedinopleurus setosicauda was described from four type specimens from two localities in North Vietnam (DVOŘÁK 1996). The details indicated in the descriptions of P. notabilis and P. setosicauda do not provide any evidence that the two names should refer to different species; hence the synonymy proposed above.
