Taxonomy. New record from Lebanon based on personal underwater observations and several photos available.

Distribution. Southern Mediterranean Sea, eastern Atlantic: Azores, Madeira, Canary, Cape Verde and St. Helena islands.

Conservation. IUCN: Global (LC: 16 August 2011). Capture and threats: Unknown. Occurrence: Common. Significant increase in the last two decades. Non-indigenous species, no conservation action needed .
