Distribution. North Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Sea of Marmara, Black Sea, eastern North Atlantic: English Channel south to Morocco.

Conservation. IUCN: Global (LC: 14 November 2007); Med. (LC: 14 November 2007). Capture and threats: HAB, Unknown. Occurrence: Very rare. Low priority for conservation action .
