Other distribution. India, Nepal, Thailand, Laos, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Taiwan (Liu & Beaver 2018).

Biology. The species breeds mainly in small, dead branches, but also in the sapwood of logs of numerous species (Beeson & Bhatia 1937).
