Type Locality: " Sumatra: Padang-Padjang...about 2000 feet " [Padangpanjang, Sumatera Barat, Indonesia; ca. 610 m].
Vernacular Names: Sumatran Striped Rabbit.
Distribution: Sumatra [Indonesia].
Conservation: IUCN – Critically Endangered; only a dozen museum specimens exist, collected between 1880 and 1916. Since these early collections there has been only one confirmed sighting (in 1972; Flux, 1990) and two photographic records (different individuals, captured in an automatic camera trap in 1998; Surridge et al., 1999).
