Calathocratus caucasicus (Šilhavý, 1966)

Type locality. Russia, Kuban, Michajlov .

Material examined. IRAN: Golestan Province: 2 males, 5 females (RCNS), Shast Kalateh, 36°46’N, 54°11’E, 483 m a.s.l., pitfall trapping, Razieh Rafiei-Jahed leg. November 2017 .

Records from Iran. Golestan (present paper).

Distribution. Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia (Northern Caucasus). This family, genus, and species is new to Iran, with the present material representing the southeasternmost record of the entire known range of the species.

Comments. Snegovaya (1999) listed the distribution of this species from various countries as given by “Roewer 1950; Redikorzev 1936; Roewer 1923 and Šilhavý 1956 [incorrectly listed as 1955]” but these sources were published before the species was named and thus are unreliable. Therefore, these are not detailed further here.
